Colchester Archaeological Trust

This website contains a library of reports produced by the Colchester Archaeological Trust (CAT).  It forms the first part of a collaboration of CAT and the Department of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering of the University of Essex to exploit modern technologies in archaeology.  As the collaboration develops, this website will present other facets of our joint work. (Further details on the purpose of the website are elsewhere.)

The organisation of the website
The reports and publications are organised into groups according to date of fieldwork and whether or not they were produced by the Colchester Archaeological Trust (CAT). The groups are as follows: Colchester Archaeological Trust: CAT, AR, CAR, MAG, CNL (Catalogue newsletter), MISCAT Others: RN, OR, MISCO. There is a star grading system for the reports and publications.

Using the Library
There are five ways in which you can use this library; just click on the one you want from the list below or use one of the buttons at the top of the page.

1. View all the report titles. (From here you can click on a report title and view a summary of the report.)

2. View a summary of a chosen report. (From here you can click on a title and view the full report in PDF format.)

3. View the full report in PDF format of a chosen report.

4. Search library using keywords.

5. Search library using Google.

6. Use a map to find reports (requires JavaScript).
