Summary. Five evaluation trenches were dug at the Sixth Form College, North Hill, Colchester, Essex in preparation for the design of a new IT building, planned as part of the mid-site development. The majority of the archaeological features recorded were of Roman date, and included tessellated and mortar floors as well as the robbed-out foundations of a large town-house.
