Summary. The site lies approximately 0.5km to the south-west of the walled Roman town, on the projected course of the major Roman approach road to the Balkerne Gate. An evaluation in the garden of the property revealed Roman road metalling and adjacent structural features with indications of several phases of early activity. The investigation was too limited to establish the function of the structures, but possible interpretations include roadside houses, workshops and monuments.
