Summary. The site is on the north edge of Sheering, close to the River Stort, and in a car-park adjacent to the old maltings. A cross-shaped evaluation trench (total length 42m) was excavated in the footprint of a proposed new building, but revealed no significant archaeological remains. Modern fills were revealed, and modern disturbance probably due to the removal of a concrete silo prior to the conversion of the maltings complex for housing.
