Summary. Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out at 67 London Road, Colchester, during the construction of a single-storey rear extension. The development site is located within the Late Iron Age oppidum of Camulodunum, to the west of the Roman walled town. The site fronts onto Stane Street, the Roman road leading from Colchester to London and the west. Nothing of archaeological interest was observed other than an intensely scorched area which was probably the remains of a modern hearth.
