Summary. Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out at 25 Fingringhoe Road, Colchester, Essex in advance of the construction of a single-storey front. The development site is located near to where a complete Iron Age pot and a Palaeolithic handaxe were previously uncovered. Also nearby is a series of Second World War defences and the site of a 19th-century brickworks. A single modern pit was uncovered.
