Summary. An archaeological evaluation (one trial-trench) was carried out on land adjacent to 30 Scotts Hill, Southminster, Essex in advance of the construction of four new semi-detached two-storey dwellings. Archaeological evaluation revealed evidence of two modern brick structures and a modern rubbish-pit, the remains of two 19th-century cottages which previously stood on the site.
