Summary. An archaeological evaluation by trial-trenching (two trial-trenches) was undertaken at Broadacres, London Road, Great Horkesley, Essex in advance of groundworks for a replacement extension, new outbuilding and associated landscaping. Despite being located close to a medieval church and the remains of a deserted medieval (or earlier) village, the only significant discovery was a single sherd of mid-Late Bronze Age or Iron Age pottery from the subsoil.
