Summary. Archaeological monitoring was carried out at 33 Shelley Road during groundworks for a two-storey extension and alterations following the demolition of the existing garage. The development site is located in close proximity to the group of Iron Age and Roman burial sites known as the ‘Lexden Cemetery’ and the Shrub End and Triple Dykes. Despite being located in an area of considerable archaeological interest, there were no significant archaeological remains.
