Summary. An archaeological evaluation by trial-trenching (eight trenches) was undertaken at West House Farm, Bakers Lane, Colchester, Essex in advance of the erection of six holiday lets, with associated access, car parking and groundworks. Evaluation revealed no significant archaeological features. However, a single sherd of 1st-century AD pottery and four prehistoric worked flints (from soil layers) show activity in the vicinity of the development site during these periods.
