Summary. An archaeological strip, map and record project incorporating monitoring was carried out at the church of St John the Baptist, Hall Road, Mount Bures, Essex, during the groundworks for a single-storey extension on the northern side of the church and new service connections. Fifteen inhumation burials were exposed by the groundworks and a quantity of disarticulated human bone was found across the site. The earliest burial dated from the mid 12th to the late 13th century, and the latest were two burial vaults dating from the 18th to the early 19th century.
