Summary. A four-trench archaeological evaluation was carried out at Gosfield Tennis Club in advance of the construction of five new dwellings with access and car parking for the tennis club. The site was located along the Chelmsford-Braintree-Long Melford Roman road, to the south of the historic settlement of Gosfield. Despite the location no archaeological remains or material were encountered.
