Summary. An archaeological evaluation (two trial-trenches) was carried out at The Larches, Grove Hill, Stansted, Essex, in advance of the construction of a new dwelling. Despite being located close to Stansted Castle, the only features present were a post-medieval/modern quarry pit and undated gully.
