Summary.
Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out at Southchurch Hall Gardens,
Southend-on-Sea, Essex to replace a defunct water pipe. Southchurch Hall has its origins in the
13th century and is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. No significant archaeological remains were
encountered during monitoring which revealed only modern layers.
