Summary. A programme of historic building recording was carried out by Colchester Archaeological Trust at a garage behind 50 Silver Street, Buckden, St. Neots in June 2016. 50 Silver Street is a 17th-century Grade II listed cottage (NHLE no. 1130301, DCB2587). The garage is curtilage listed and a surviving example of an early 20th-century timber-framed motor house. The cartographic evidence and the presence of asbestos panelling on the interior suggests it was built sometime between 1910 and 1924, with an early 1920s date considered more likely.
